Publishing Assistant — Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-12 · Effective: 2026-05-12 · Publisher: Cola Tools
Welcome to Publishing Assistant ("the App"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you ("User") and the publisher of the App, Cola Tools, governing your use of the App. By downloading, installing or using the App you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms.
1. Description of service
The App is a desktop tool that helps content creators upload videos to platforms via official APIs and generate video metadata (title / description / tags) using AI services that the User brings their own keys for. The App operates no servers; all data is stored on the User's local machine.
2. License to use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Cola Tools grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control.
3. User responsibilities
- Account compliance: you must use platform accounts (such as YouTube) that you have lawfully obtained and are authorized to operate. The App acts only on your behalf via the platforms' official APIs; you are solely responsible for the content you upload.
- Content compliance: the videos you upload and the metadata you generate must comply with the laws of your jurisdiction and with the community guidelines and terms of service of the target platforms. Cola Tools does not review and bears no responsibility for your content.
- API quotas and costs: use of third-party services such as the YouTube Data API and OpenRouter may be subject to their own quotas and fees, which you are responsible for paying.
- Account security: you must safeguard your operating system account and physical access to your device. Anyone with access to your local user session may decrypt and read the OAuth tokens and API keys stored by the App.
4. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
- use the App to upload illegal, infringing, spam or malicious content;
- bypass, circumvent or compromise the security mechanisms of the App, third-party platform APIs, or your operating system;
- abuse third-party platform APIs, including but not limited to: using the App for spam (bulk publishing of junk content), manipulating platform traffic / rankings / engagement, bulk automated publishing of content that violates target platform community guidelines, view/engagement farming, misleading metadata, or circumventing platform anti-spam mechanisms;
- use the App to publish on any account you do not lawfully own and operate (including others' accounts, bought / sold accounts, account-sharing networks, etc.);
- modify, forge or circumvent the App's built-in remote configuration, risk-control prompts, version checks or other protective mechanisms;
- redistribute the App or derivative works under the Cola Tools name without permission.
4.1 Consequences: any account suspension, revocation of platform API credentials, quota restriction or legal dispute caused by your breach of the above is your sole responsibility. If your breach causes any adverse impact on the App's OAuth credentials, API quota, developer accounts, or platform partnerships (including but not limited to risk-control measures, downgrade, or suspension of the App's client_id by Google / YouTube / TikTok and similar platforms), you shall indemnify Cola Tools for all resulting losses, including but not limited to the reasonable costs of re-applying for credentials, restoring quota, and platform communications.
5. Third-party services
When you actively initiate the corresponding action, the App calls the following third-party services. Your relationship with those services is governed by their own terms and is independent of Cola Tools:
6. Intellectual property
- The source code, icons and documentation of the App are owned by Cola Tools and licensed under the corresponding open-source / proprietary terms in the repository LICENSE file.
- You retain all rights in the videos you upload through the App. The App makes no claim to and acquires no license over your content.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cola Tools is not responsible for:
- publishing failures caused by changes to third-party platform APIs, quota limits or content review rejections;
- data loss caused by network interruptions, local device failures, or operating system keychain anomalies;
- consequences arising from inaccurate, inappropriate or infringing content generated by AI models;
- copyright, privacy, defamation or other disputes arising from the content you upload.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cola Tools' total liability to you (whether in contract, tort or otherwise) is limited to the amount you have paid for the App; if the App is provided free of charge, that amount is zero.
9. Changes and termination
Cola Tools may at any time, in its sole discretion, modify, suspend or terminate development and maintenance of the App, with or without notice. Already-installed local versions of the App will normally continue to function, but Cola Tools does not warrant their compatibility with future versions of third-party platform APIs.
9.1 Remote risk-control rights: to protect the overall compliance and sustainability of the App, Cola Tools reserves the following remote rights, exercisable individually or in combination, at any time and without prior notice:
- Remotely disable upload functionality: in the event of large-scale abuse, escalating platform API risk, compliance requirements or a critical security vulnerability, remotely disable the video upload feature for any or all versions of the App;
- Force upgrade: mark legacy versions known to contain serious bugs, security vulnerabilities, or platform risk-control flags as unsupported, requiring users to upgrade before continued use;
- Restrict specific behavior: temporarily restrict upload frequency, target platforms, content types, etc., in response to platform policy changes;
- Revoke this license: for users who breach Section 4 (Prohibited conduct), revoke the license to use the App immediately and without notice.
These measures take effect through the remote configuration fetched at App startup. Modifying, blocking, or forging the remote configuration to evade restrictions constitutes a serious breach of Section 4.
10. Changes to these Terms
If these Terms are materially changed, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post a notice in the App's "Settings" page. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the changes.
